As they say, “All good things must come to an end,” and sadly we arrived at that point. There will be one more newsletter in December with all the information on where records are located and how to begin when and if someone steps forward to take over. I simply am not able to continue trying to make the historical society work without more help from the people of the community. Commitment is the biggest problem today. The older generation has put in its time and the younger generation doesn’t seem interested. The museum will remain with the Village of Holland (taking over full control). All of you who are members at this time will remain members of the historical society as life members until such time it becomes active again. We will remain in a state of limbo for now. I will continue to do research of families of the area and write stories about the families. I also will be working at the museum to support what we have accomplished and help preserve the history of this area. More on this later.
I want to take a moment to thank you for all that we have accomplished in the past seven years. Sorry to see it come to an end like this, but I know I have given it my best shot. Hope to see some of you at the museum.
